this release, aptly named ‘verglas’ after the french word for “a thin sheet of frost”, comes from cool, muted tones in the indigo spectrum; red violets, to deep purples, to navy, it draws heavily from the flowers of the southwest, which only bloom for a few months out of the year. like datura itself, these delicate beautiful flowers are often misleading and clothe darker things. from this we’ve created a small release reflecting that mindset and hope that wearing these reminds you that just because you’re cute doesn’t mean you aren’t powerful.
medium package - $60
our most versatile and discounted package, this includes:
- hat -or- scarf
wear it together for a perfectly varied ensemble or as individual pieces for many different looks, these are designed to compliment each other in any combination with basics (like the beautiful angora hat or scarf) to better show off interest pieces (the gradient fade tights in navy, purple or black; the versatile sweater). purchase here.
large package - $100
the most requested package of all, featuring a few piece people have been waiting for since last year: the dress.
currently the only way to purchase the centrepiece of the package, the dress. made of black velvet with a sweetheart bust, v cut back and sheer, delicate flower fill, this article is perfect to dress up with an oversized coat, under a sweater or casually with the angora circle scarf, a cardigan and some over the knee socks. you also won’t have to choose between a hat or a scarf with this package. purchase here.
small package, $24
if you’re more minimal or don’t need any dresses, get our excellent deal on the staples for the season.
the angora yarn is not only super soft, humane and sustainable, it’s also super warm and durable. the oversized knit guarantees a perfect fit, and the handcrafted aspect promises a better, longlasting product that will last you for winters to come. the colours are a classic (navy and black) that will never go out of style, and if you really need another colour, for only $5 more you can request any in the rainbow. purchase here.
do you offer mens/womens sizes?
yes and no. our line is unisex but utilizes, it its upcycled clothing, “mens” pieces (jeans, tshirts, etc) unless specifically requested otherwise. we encourage everyone to break the gender binary, acknowledge clothing is ultimately cloth, and know that whatever they’re ordering will fit comfortably so long the sizing information given is accurate. there is no upcycled clothing in this release, however, so be sure to specify upon giving sizes if you mean mens or womens (i.e. in the case of shoes, etc).
can we barter/trade?
send email@example.com an email with “Trade” as the subject title and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
what are the ethics behind your clothing manufacturing?
“deernoise” makes all of the clothing, either from scratch, or upcycled— for instance, jeans are purchased almost exclusively as vintage levis. there are a few things, for the sake of uniform merchandise and hygiene, purchased new; for instance, the shoes and tshirts. she is very passionate about being green and minimizing waste and is very against unsafe and thoughtless mass-manufacturing, and all of her purchases are made with this in mind.
can i order things modified, or from my own designs?
send an email with the title “Modification” to firstname.lastname@example.org with your idea and we will get back to you shortly.
any inquiries should be sent to either daturaclothing.tumblr.com/ask or email@example.com with your inquiry in the title. expect a response within a few business days. we look forwards to hearing from you!
datura clothing is now networking, with two new places to get updates and original content:
facebook - for sneak peaks, etc
8tracks - we are now releasing mixes of inspiring tracks sporadically, usually coinciding with releases or news. give us a listen!
we are also planning on releasing a zine soon, focusing largely around street art, nature, fashion and haiku.
if you would like to be part of this project, please send us a message over at daturaclothing.tumblr.com with a link to some of your work (deviantart, an art tag on your blog, or individual links to pieces will work).
we also want to hear from you if you do small-scale screenprinting, photography in the portland or seattle region, or photo printing.
